The two newest entries into the World Series of Poker’s “Poker Hall of Fame” have been announced.  This year, the two poker stars to be honoured are Barry Greenstein and Linda Johnson.  These two poker ambassadors will be joining the ranks of legendary poker players in the Hall of Fame on November 8th, at a special ceremony to coincide with the final table of the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

Barry Greenstein is one of the most successful tournament poker players in history.  He has amassed almost $8 million in Live Tournament winnings in his career. Greenstein is well known for his philanthropy, and has earned the nickname “The Robin Hood of Poker”.

Linda Johnson has been a professional poker player since 1974, and has several respectable prizes to her name, including a WSOP Bracelet.  Johnson has been a fervent ambassador for the sport, and is well liked in poker circles.

Greenstein said of the honour “I’m happy to be inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside my friend Linda Johnson, who has been the most fervent ambassador for poker for as long as I can remember.”

Johnson commented: “I am extremely proud and humbled to be voted into the Poker Hall of Fame. I feel lucky to have been involved in many facets of poker over the past 35 years. Being recognized by the industry is a tremendous honor,”
